Shored Up: A Documentary

The Monmouth County Library Headquarters will present Shored Up: A Documentary on Tuesday October 22 at 6:30 PM.  Shored Up asks tough questions about our coastal communities, and was filmed over a period of three years, culminating with the impact of Sandy.  It explores the conflicts and personal stakes of communities along the shore.
 
Director Ben Kalina will introduce the film and answer questions after the screening.

Shored Up talks to scientists, politicians, residents and a wide range of experts to expose major shortcomings in coastal management and the immediate need for change. Shored Up is a look at what happens when we ignore the realities of science in our drive to inhabit and profit from our coastlines.
