DESCRIPTION:Presenters:\n\nDr. Alison Thomas-Cottingham \n\nAlison Thomas-Cottingham\, Ph.D.\, is a clinical psychologist with a specialty in community/health psychology. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Rider University and a Principal Investigator at Sabre88. At Rider University she serves as the Co-Chair of the President's Council on Diversity and Inclusion.\n\nDr. Thomas-Cottingham's current research and clinical interests focus on the health of older adults. She has conducted numerous workshops and delivered presentations at senior centers throughout the State of New Jersey.  She has also provided keynote addresses at meetings of the New Jersey Foundation for Aging and New Jersey Partners.\n\nDr. Thomas-Cottingham is the author of the book\, Psychology Made Simple and numerous articles on aging and older adults. She serves as a consulting editor for the Journal of American College Health and is a member of various professional Associations including the American Psychological Association and The Association of Black Psychologists.\n\n \n\nKat Verdi\n\nKat is the Founder of Verdi Consulting\, LLC\, she is a Senior Living & Healthcare Transition Advocacy Consultant for Caregivers\, Aging Adults & LGBTQ Elders. Approaching a decade of experience in geriatric healthcare\, she has been assisting families in "healthcare transition" including those affected by dementia and Alzheimer's. Kat's shares her professional tenure which covers every aspect of senior healthcare and how dramatically the landscape of Aging in America has changed.
