Senior Accounting Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for North America legal entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with IFRS and company accounting guidelines.
- Oversee preparation and review of balance sheet accounts, journal entries, and financial reporting deliverables.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, managing quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Provide oversight and direction to the General Accounting team within the Shared Service Center to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to standards.
- Partner closely with Controlling, Order-To-Cash, Tax, and Treasury teams to align on close timelines, reporting requirements, and accounting treatments.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, and enhance efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial regulations, and corporate governance policies.
- Provide accounting guidance and technical expertise to support business decisions and finance stakeholders.
- Support special projects including mergers and acquisitions, system implementations, and finance transformations.
- Promote best practices, accountability, and knowledge sharing across the finance organization.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
- CPA certification strongly preferred; Big 4 public accounting experience highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP, including areas such as revenue recognition, leasing, pensions, and M&A.
- Experience performing technical accounting research and preparing documentation.
- Proven experience managing external audits.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with cross-functional and international teams.
- Advanced Excel skills; SAP experience a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership experience guiding teams and influencing stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
